A bit about me and my team. I started my floristry business in 2014. I had been out of the trade only doing friends and family flowers for a few years but had always wanted to have my own business and it seemed an ideal time to start.
I started small from a kitchen table, and then grew to take over the garage and now have a lovely pine studio in my garden and the garage. (and i am still short of room)
I literally started from scratch to build my reputation and make new contacts. Starting with my first wedding fayre at Heartlands and met some wonderful helpful suppliers and decided I would concentrate on wedding floristry.
A wedding planner in a local hotel stated there is a shortage of balloon decorators and wondered if we might be interested in training in this field too? So my daughter and I went to London in July of that year and learned the basics in balloon decorating which was enjoyable and eye opening as when I started I could not tie a balloon!
Years have gone by now and we are an established florist and offer an outstanding balloon decorating service. We have made many contacts and friends within the hospitality sector, and brides that have become friends.
We are delighted as we have some wonderful reviews from customers and our aim to to provide an outstanding service to our clients whatever they require from us.
So gradually through wedding fayres and word of mouth and talking to local venues and doing photo shoots I got my name out that I was a florist and balloon decorator. Feedback from brides was very good and I had some fantastic reviews and every wedding was different, lovely and rewarding. Also creating the end product was greatly rewarding.
The balloon side of the business has just grown and grown and we keep up with current trends and as there is a shortage worldwide of helium and prices are going up of helium we have begun to specialise in organic balloon creations (which are fab).
The floristry side of the business is building all the time and I have had to learn new trends as when I trained 20…. Years ago we only learned traditional floristry and now wild flowers are popular,
However, I think my true speciality with wedding flowers is traditional teardrop bouquet and I just love creating them, they are still popular today but with a few different tweaks and foliage that bring them up to the present day.
I just want to say a huge thank you to my customers past and present and long may it continue.
