Our Heamoor Shop
As well as serving as a florists and our event decorating hub, our shop in Heamoor also showcases a wide variety of locally handcrafted, one of a kind gifts, from personally selected Cornish suppliers, ranging from a selection of Stirling silver jewellery, to fused glass and recycled plastic garden flowers.
Our aim is to reduce single use plastics where possible, all our latex balloons are biodegradable, we use brown paper bags, craft and tissue paper for wrapping, our handcrafted gifts are made in Cornwall to reduce travel time and we use Cornish grown flowers in the local growing season.
A bit about me and my team.
Having completed my floristry training, followed by many years being employed locally as a florist, I made the move to start my own business in 2014. I started small from my kitchen table, then grew to take over our garage, followed by a lovely pine studio in our garden, which I and the business have since outgrown and so we have moved into our lovely new shop in the centre of Heamoor.
Over the years I have built my reputation, suppliers and contacts through word of mouth, attending countless wedding fayres, training courses, hard graft and through the all important practical experience out in the field.
Whilst the floristry side of the business has always been the backbone, it has constantly been building and evolving to meet the needs of an ever expanding customer base. I love to keep the business modern and fresh, using locally grown flowers where possible and enjoy using new trends and techniques, as when I initially trained 20 odd years ago, it was very much all about very traditional wired floristry compared to the much looser hand tied approach incorporating wild flowers that are in vogue at the moment.
The balloon side of the business started when a wedding planner I was working with at the time mentioned the shortage of trained balloon artists in the area. From my first training course in London to the present day, the balloon business has just grown and grown and we are now able to provide anything from a single foil helium balloon to celebrate a special day, to a balloon personalisation service, interactive gender reveal balloons, illuminated arch’s with biodegradable options, through to total venue decoration.
Years have gone by now and Ballooning Buds and Bows has grown to be an established floristry business with many brides, customers and colleagues within the hospitality sector becoming good friends and returning clients.
We are delighted to have pages of wonderful reviews from customers and our aim is still to provide an outstanding service to our clients whatever they may require.
I just want to say a huge thank you to my customers past and present and long may it continue.
